Default Radio

well, in it's defense, it is 10 years old. The radio on my Tribute went around 10 years as well. Holy cow, that cars 10 years old I just realized! I still love it. Best $16k ever spent on a car.

I got a new one from crutchfield, for like $80 that doesn't even play CDs!
I looked for a new CD player and was like... none of these play CDs... then realized...
I don't think I own any CDs any more... I checked... Nope, couldn't find any I hadn't burned myself.

Anyway, what it DOES do is play MP3s from a USB stick, or my iphone, or streams pandora from my iphone, and makes bluetooth calls.

I think you can add SIRIUS as well, but with 2,000+ songs on a USB stick on shuffle... I think I'm good.

For the price of 1 year of SIRIUS or 5 CDs I got a new headunit. I actually don't know what CDs cost though as I haven't bought one since highschool...

Moral of the story; just buy a new headunit.

Mine stopped taking cd's a couple months ago. 03 tahoe. It seems to be a common problem with the the stock radios. Mine has cd and tape so I would like the same. I don't want a 3rd brand party with a bunch of stupid lights and other crap. I like the plain ole chevy radio. Also mine has the rear seat radio attachment for the passengers and I am not sure if the 3rd party brands would work with that. There is a web site that will fix your radio and send the same radio back to you. This way you don't have to go to the dealer and have it reactivated. But I have not used them and I'll have to look up the address. If you want it I'll see If I can't find it.
