Default Suburban Ceiling Crap??

The ceiling cover on my 1987 Suburban peeled off awhile ago so I tore it out. I was hoping to use some spray stick stuff (forget the name) to hold it back on. but the insulation is like rotting away and crumbling from the ceiling. wondering if I should tear it out as well and buy 1/2 inch foam insulation to replace it? then go from there with the covering?

Thanks guys

An auto upholstery shop can pull the plastic headliner out and recover w/ the correct mat'l and it'll look like new.

Scrape the insulation off, then glue the material back on.

You can do that also but it will have a certain ghetto look. DAMHIK.

If you take the headliner shell out and take it in, it would probably be $200-$300. But that's just a guess as it's been about 20 years since I had one done.
