Default Suburban Overdrive

94 suburban 1500 5.7 with 165k on original, never repaired transmission. While in overdrive, I just started to notice a 200rpm increase when jumping back on the gas before the transmission actual grabs and accelerates. Is this a sign of failure or something that can be adjusted? Or maybe my torque converter?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Ron

I want to clarify that it happens when I hit the gas after a coast. Once overdrive grabs and I stay on the gas, it stays grabbed.

I would have to assume that a current filter and fluid change have been done and that the level of oil is good?
