Tahoe & SuburbanThe power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.
Hello guys, glad to be joining a fellow Chevy owner forum.
I recently was involved in an accident that left my 2014 Suburban LS on it's driver's side and angled upwards for 30 mins to 1.5 hours before flipping it over and towing it home. As I'm waiting for the insurance guy to come look at it, I want to make a checklist of things to check to make sure it's ok to try and start it and roll it into the garage. The damage doesn't look too bad in terms of mechanic stuff, mostly bad panel damage, I'll attach an image. I'm thinking check ATF, battery, plugs, filters for oil, etc. Any other ideas?
wait and see what the insurance guy says. I'm not convinced they're going to fix it.
Oh I am sure they will salvage it, add up all the parts + labor, easily will be over 75% of the vehicle value, even when you consider this one has a new engine and transmission. I will be repairing it though if the engine is ok, whether the insurance fixes it or not, even if they don't end up paying me, I will still probably fix it myself because it doesn't look too bad. Assuming no serious engine damage, I calculated it to be around $1500 in parts (glass, air bag, fender, hood, running board, bumper, etc.), probably less if I actually go looking for a deal. PS. thanks for moving my thread
