Suburban towing
#12
Thanks, well I was looking for some kind of reference. I have a 2008 LT 4x4 with a external cooler, WDH and brake control. Bought a TH with a actual weight of 5320 dry( had it weight before I pulled it home). Now I loaded it up for our trip and weight everything and ended up with 6620 loaded and a measured hitch weight of 830 lbs. in the burb I will only carry me my wife and son, together 380 lbs. will go to the scale with the burb tomorrow to weigh it and hit the scale with the trailer in a couple weeks. Just was looking for a bit of reference ahead ;-)

Looks like you have your Trailer stacked a little front heavy. Tongue should be about 10% of total trailer weight. Getting that adjusted will relieve your Burb some.

Normally the tongue weight on a trailer should be about 10% but on a TT they give you up to 15% but anything over 10% you must use a load leveling hitch. You can rearange your gear in the trailer to the rear or over the axels to help with this.
deryll1- what is your GCWR when you go loaded up to the scales if you are under that you should be good there.
then you need to know your gross axle weight rear and your actuall rear curb weight then subtract the curb weight from gross weight and that will give you your actual cargo weight that is you, wife, kid, tongue weight, and stuff in the suburban. Here is a calculator I found Before You Buy RV Compatibility Verifier

Blue Dog,
Uoops, ur right, I missed the TT part.
HA, I bet that little MPoo bosses those big guys around like it weighted twice as much as them
I have Yorkies, and they are totally oblivious to size when it comes to a Barkdown
PS:
Leave um behind...NO WAY !
If I did that with mine, they wouldn't let me back in the house !

I did a lookup with my VIN on the GM Website, that's MAX GTW by the way.
These Burbs n Hoes are set up quite individually, some have "packages" that others don't, and that "mix" makes it really hard to make comparisons.
It's best to do a lookup on your VIN and see just what GM says about it.
