haha. "Stacie" Is the same person that I am chatting with now. Im in 20 min as well. I give up. "stacie" was asking what configuration of K1500 Pick up my vehicle was. And that the computers are "down" so "stacie" cant do an exact look up.
Wow. That is just sad...

I am looking this up for you, and our main computer system is down currently so I am accession another document which doesn't spell it out as clearly.
19:36:40

Do you know if you have a C series or K series and if it is a 2500 or 3500?

19:52:56
Customer:
ok, would you also please incl the towing capacity for a 3500, just for future purchse info? do you contact me by email?
19:55:22
Stacie:
One moment.
19:56:44
Stacie:
unfortunately due to too many variables and not having an exact VIN of engine sizes, hitches, what is being towed, etc I would not be able to provide that information to you.
19:56:52
Stacie:
As a generalization.
19:57:56
Stacie:
What are you intending to tow?
19:58:06
Customer:
a trailer
19:58:30
Stacie:
travel trailer or hauling trailer?
19:58:45
Customer:
toy hauler travel trailer
19:59:14
Customer:
can you contact me on monday?
20:00:59
Stacie:
I can, but I really think it would be best in you explaining what you are towing to speak directly to your local dealership or RV dealer due to all the variables and you hauling extra weight, so you can discuss the proper hitching and go over it in depth to be certain rather than just a number in an owners manual.
20:01:59
Stacie:
The toy haulers can hold a lot of weight, and may require extra sway bars, etc, and that would come into the capacity ratings too and decisions of what can be towed.
20:02:11
Customer:
?????really?? a RV dealer can tell me how much my tow max is but GM cant?
20:02:54
Customer:
i know i know, all i need is the tow max rating of my chevy....
20:03:13
Stacie:
In our customer service centers we have very basic information, the dealership is going to be your best person to speak with.
20:03:24
Customer:
ok

Stuff like that can really put someone in jeopardy, specially in Texas.
It's not beyond our DPS Officers at the Weigh Stations, to pull someone in and check them. It might be worth an EMail or Call to your State/Local agency, and just ask them what number they are going by.

your right, just did that for fun, i know mine is at 7000, confirmed by multiple dealers. just sad that GM directly cant give you a answer...

It certainly is, and I think the 7000 lb number, is nothing more than a platitude. That being the Max GTW of a "no frills" Burb, just the basic vehicle with a hitch, and no enhancement packages. A safe number that would apply to any Burb, because they don't know what extras you have, and beyond that, don't have a "scale" to evaluate the increased ability, because of those extras.
