Took a look at the Site, and I can't find exactly where that page is. It has been a while (a couple years), and they could have deleted or moved the link.
However, I found some info on their Media Site/Archive. It rates the 2003 Burb at considerably higher than mine is rated (see bottom of page). But like I said, it depends on how a specific vehicle is setup (the combination of items).

There seemingly are packages which should increase the capacity, like...
Having Auto Leveling, but that may not be the case.
Having a Equalizing Hitch, but in some instances that's not so.
I have a 4WD, a heavier vehicle than a 2WD, but I've seen ratings for 2WD that were higher than mine.
I have NO idea how GM comes up with these ratings, but their Customer Service Center is very cooperative in answering questions about things like this. You might check with them, as to how those differences are established.

It's confusing with the max tow, I talked to multiple dealers, talked to tech service on the phone to get info in that, all I can say is that there is 7000 for the 1500 with the 5.3 and the 3.73 4x4, and 7200 for the 2 wheel drive. Some websites like edmunds show 8100 but according to GM this number is not right. I have the tow package and I have 7000 on mine. It sucks that nobody can give you a clear answer, so I stick with 7000 to be safe.

Joe In NY,
Are you referring to Owner Center? For whichever GM brand you are inquiring about you can go to their site and search owners center in the top handle. It is also located in the top menu. I can always answer a question you may have in regards to your VIN. I look forward to hearing from you.
