Default Suggested shocks for 07 Z71 Tahoe

Not planning on raising or lowering, sticking with the stock 18s. Looking for a good shock that won't be too stiff - wife has a bad back. Truck has 47K so I assume the factory shocks are getting long in the tooth...

factory shocks will last a long time. espesially on your 07. kyb are pretty good ones but they dont get too loose. bilstein is a good one. they actually make a lot of the shocks for gm. try not to get any of the oreilly or napa brand shocks. they are crap. and noone better mention autozone. if your shocks are bad and you dont want to go back with gm get you some kyb's. cant beat em. just be aware they can tend to be a little rough.

I don't mind the GM shocks - just wasn't sure the Z71 shocks lasted longer since they were high pressure mono-tube.
Since I am at 47K that's normally about 22K past OEM shock lifetime in my experience!

The OE shock should be good for a while still (unless they are leaking). If you do replace them KYB is the way to go. Bilstein is good also.
