Default Tahoe 2008 Engine serial needed

Hi Guys,

I've bought a Tahoe from 2008 and I'm truying to get it on the road.
The department that does the technical control here, to allow it, is giving me a headache.

I need to proof to them which engine is in the car (5.3 V8 obviously but I need to proof it somehow) and preferably also need to let them see where there engine serial number is etched into the engine block.

Could you help me in:

1) are there markings on my engine somewhere to proof it's a 5.3 V8?

2) where is the engine serial located?

I did find this nr near the oil filter housing, but I can't really make out what nr it is and since I don't know what nr I should expect can't say anything about it?
(this is the nr near the oilfilter housing)

thanks in

I didn't know they were serialized. You can find a casting number on the block that will identify what you need.

Yes, I don't know the casting numbers, but look on the block, lower for something.

The VIN indicates what engine is in the truck. That should be sufficient.

Not in Belgium .

Here they want me to proof it is indeed a 5.3 v8 that is currently in there, as what my vin states.

Thought this was an emission issue, and yes the vin won't state exactly what engine you have. I'd suggest get a casting number (image) from the block.
