Im not real patient. I almost got it. I stop "cutting" the tape/glue about half way because i thought I had it. If you heat it a little or let the Sun warm it for you then use a sawing motion with fishing line it may be possible.

As I mentioned, I dont think there is enough heat out there to get it off in one piece! If you get it off in one piece please let us know the secret!
I got mine off in one piece using a butchers knife (no joke). Itcut through the tape and thetwo tabs on the back of the bow tie. I took picsas I was doing it and will post em up when I get a chance.

Did you take the entire bowtie off, or just the top gold section? If you took the entire bowtie off you probably have holes behind it dont you?

Hatchfinder, We are talking about taking just the plastic/gold cover off of the chrome piece. This leaves behind just the base, which is chrome. I don't think anyone got that off in one piece.

Gotcha. I took the entire bowtie off, see pics on the 1st page. It went back on with a little dbl sided automotive tape.

Damn! HAHAHA, You gave me a 10 minute laugh over this one. SORRY!

What you can do is the gold part of the rear bowtie, it actually sits on top of a chrome bowtie emblem. We were talking about getting the gold bowtie off the chrome without damaging the chrome bowtie underneath, or damaging the gold top bowtie you are removing!

No worries, I laughed at myself when I did it. But what the hell, I just had to know what was under it and why it wasn't coming off. Luckily I only had to drive around with the ugly black tape and no tie for a day.

HAHA, butcher knife! Mightas well of used a damn hacksaw! Anyways, if you want the chrome bowtie just try and pull the off the top gold bowtie. It might have been easier with it completely off the tahoe!
