Default Tahoe LTZ 2007 Tailgate open and close ath the same time. User from Germany need help

Hallo to all users here at this Forum of Chevrolet cars.

First of all my name is Markus and I am from Germany near Wuerzburg. I am now for 3 weeks an owner of an 2007 LTZ 5.3 Tahoe. Its an nice car and not many people drive such model in Germany.
So now i have one problem that i cant solve with my experience in electrical issues.
Here is the problem:
I was parking my car in front of my house. I was opening the tailgate without problem with my remote control. Close it with the push button at the tailgate. I was parking the tahoe inside of my garage and would open again the tailgate. So i was was seen that the tailgate was open about 8-10" and close again by it self. I was searching internet and read that the lifters on the left and right side would went out. So i order Strongarm 6156 lifters. I was replace them with the hope that i solve this problem. But i was thinking wrong. The problem is still the same.
I can touch my sensor inside of the handle. Then i hear the sound for unlocking the tailgate. Motor start pushing up to 10" and close again by it self. I test it with my remote control the same issue. Also i test it with the roof switch for the tailgate. Same problem.

I was unlock the tailgate with the roof button and open my tailgate manually. It works normal. Pushing sensor tailgate would unlock and I can open it manually. Bute i hear the unlocking sound for some seconds when the tailgate is main open. Is this normal in manually mode?

So then I test it again. Push the roof button back to electrical mode. Pushed the open button on my remote control and then in the open mode i was helping the tailgate manually to lift and the motor was pushing up the tailgate. At the open position i was pushing the close button at the tailgate. The close move was beginning I hear the typical sound of the tailgate but motor only push up a little the tailgate and wont close it. Stays open.

So i have no idea what could be this problem. I was thinking that maybe the motor went out. Because why it stop working after i was use it outside in front of my house. Lifters are brand new. Or did i order wrong lifters they are not strong enough. But why it would not close then.
I have no experience in this point. Also no electrical wiring diagram. Here i need help as much as possible. I start to get me al necessary books and tools to work on my Tahoe by my self. I have no TECH II Tool. I have only Auto Delphi 2015 to check the OBD2 box. But it seems that i need an special software to read all data out of my Tahoe.

I hope that one of your guys here could help me in my problem. In other Forum no body answering me at my post.

Thanks a lot for all help and info's. If you like you can send me an PM and i will give you also my E-mail address for contact.

Thanks a lot your Member Markus

It almost seems that the tailgate is sensing something that makes it going into a safe mode. If you tried to open the tailgate while gently applying upward pressure I am curious to see how the tailgate reacts. Or if it is trying to close what would happen if you prevented it form closing all the way., Would it open all the way by default? Curious if this would happen.

Hallo sfcjones. First i wish you an nice eastern Sunday to you and your family.
At the moment I am 600mls away rom home at my girlfriends house. I drive home today. What i will do is, that i make an Video about my problem.
There i can show you how my Tailgate would react. I think this ist the best way to show everybody what is my problem
Also i was reading that my problem could be because my release switch of my tailgate is stocking in. Because i fell no mechanic response
if I try to push this button. It feels like an sensor pad. I know on my german car that if I would push such button, that you getting .an feedback
in your fingers if you push this. But at my handle nothing would feel like this. Also i have to press it sometimes very hard and often because this switch will
not react by my fingers.

Maybe i will try to replace first this Tailgate release switch and go step by step to solve the problem. Because in manually Mode i can use my tailgate.

What you think about my Idea. ???

Best Regards Markus .

Correction
Inspect the liftgate wiring harness and repair as necessary using the steps below.

  1. Verify the condition and check for any DTCs.
  2. Remove the rear door upper garnish molding and retainers. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in SI.
  3. Remove the headliner push retainers.
  4. Important: Do not fold or crease the headliner panel.
  5. Slightly pull down on the center of the headliner panel.
  6. Locate connector C405/X405, which is a light gray 22-way connector located under the center of the rear headliner panel.
  7. Tip
Use a shop towel when disconnecting the rear washer hose to help absorb any washer fluid that may leak.
  8. Disconnect the C405/X405 connector and the rear wiper washer hose.
  9. Remove the wiring harness pass through retainer, wiring harness, C405/X405 connector and the washer hose from the roof panel.

Hello, I am happy to provide information here. In my case and further research has shown that this error can be found in the Motor of the electric tailgate behind the Tailgate Handle. Liftgate Latch
More precisely, there are micro switches on the motor to check the position on and. If one of these does not work properly, then the measurement in the electronics does not know where its position is and shows this behavior. I wrote in an other Forum an description also for people in Europe because this latch would be also found in the German Opel Insignia Station Wagen. It is the same part and was 100$ cheaper even on Rock Auto..

I hope I could help you.

Greetings Markus
