found this forum through a google search. I just got home in my new
ride - A 1999 Chevy Tahoe with the full police package. This car was
used in by the K-9 squad of a local township police. The car has 190K
miles on it and has had the engine and transmission replaced at 149K <img src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">



I traded this one for my beat up Lincoln Mark VIII (which I procured under 500$ <img style="width: 17px; height: 17px;" src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0">,
another story that!). The car drives great and am planning many a road
trip with my buddies now that we have enough space to fit in everyone.



The only thing is that the car has like a fan or a vent at the
rear top for the doggie they had to have any ventilation. IS there
anyway to get rid of that dome and fill up those holes.

Is it 2dr or 4dr? Do you mean rear AC vents in roof, above and behind the front seats, but in front of the back seats? Do you know your gearing?
I have 2.73 in front and 3.08 in rear. Ofcourse it's a 4wd, but I got it from an ex-homicide detective and he was pulling all kinds of police stuff out of it. He told me it was a special ordered vehicle that the guy who order it did'nt pick it up.
Do you know what the vin code for police package is? There was all kinds of dog hair in in the rig, especially in back, and the guy didn't own a dog. I can only imagine that the hair came from a cadaver dog. They look like a Belgium/Sheppards hairs becaused of the length and colors.

FYI if you have 2.73 gear ratios in front and 3.08 in the rear (you don't, but if you did) don't even think of locking it into 4-wheel-drive or you'll be in the ditch faster than your kid can type a text message.
