GM used to (maybe still does) peddle EOS (Engine Oil Supplement). I think it had a high zinc and/or moly content. Probably not compatible w/ cats since the lube oils have reduced their content of elements.

BG brought their big duelly demo truck to our shop. In the bed of the truck is a fully run able chevy 350 that has been run with moa in it regularly. They completely removed the oil pan and reved the shi... out of it 2000-5000 rpm until the lifters began to chatter from no oil pressure. Then they put the oil pan back on filled it with oil and started it back up. The engine was as quite as a mouse. Since my boss if a BG spokes person and they sponsor his radio show we get to see all their cool stuff. We also carry all their products and equipment

They ran it long enough for it to get hot then they removed the pan and ran it for maybe 5 min really hard. It has been like 6-7 years so I really can not remember the details. The moa cost just shy of $ 10.00 at my shop. you can go to bgfindashop.com to find some in your area. Each shop can charge what the want. My buddy works at a All Tune and lube, they charge like $ 18.00 for moa and 40 for 44k where we charge 24

Years ago Havoline had an ad where they ran a 240Z w/ their oil and then drained it and ran it full bore around a racetrack for a lot of miles (can't remember how many) and then tore down the engine and no abnormal wear. Not sure I believe it.

Would like to see a teardown on teh BG MOA demo engine.

When my dad owned my Silverado, he used a teflon additive. I can't remember the name of it, but every time I have changed the oil since, I have never found any metal bits on the drain plug, so I take that as a good thing. If only I could remember the name of it...

Default My Pistons Look Great!

I dumped two bottles in within a period of a year. Here is what my pistons looked like on a 177k mile Lumina GM 3.1L V6
