Thumping while accelerating especially uphill

Thumping while accelerating especially uphill
2007 Tahoe 233000 miles, there's a thumping sensation during a hard acceleration as well as going uphill. A normal acceleration from a stop light there isn't much there. Any ideas what this can be?
