Default tire size ?

hi
I have a 04 burb and I was going to put 285/75r16 on it and I was wondering if I had to reprogram the computer for the tires or is it ok just to run the bigger tires

I don't know if you can re-program the Computer to the larger diameter on a 04. But it certainly would be helpful to you it you could. If you can't, you can calculate the speedometer error and just remember/deal with that, and the perceived changes in Breaking and Power.

That's a pretty hefty change in Tire size (I think), I'd be more worried about them scrubbing. What is the original size recommended for your 04 ? Look on the sticker on the drivers door for that.

Are you changing Rims as well ?

If you did want to change the computer for bigger tires you could buy a hyper tech chip and on that you can change the computer for bigger tires and the hyper tech chip might also give you a little more horsepower and fuel economy

The 285's are .6" wider, and 2.2" taller than your OEM.
I don't think that's going to be too much for your existing Rims.
However, that's a respectable increase in Diameter.
Hope you can re-program, or get a Chip that'll accept that size.
You will probably notice a little more difficulty in Breaking and
the perceived Power of your ride.
