Tow/Remote Battery
I havea trailer with a full size battery that is to be used with a winch. Is the "battery feed" wire on the Tahoe's 7-pin connector adequate enough and fused properly to charge the trailer'sbattery?
TMW597 - thanks for the hope. However, a test light shows thatI do not have 12-volts at the plug. Tail lights andturn signalsDO show up okay with the test light.
Do you know what fuse number would complete the circuit?

So Mary, is this working to keep your trailer battery charged? If it is then I wonder if you could connect a AUX battery up to this same connection and have addtional power to the Tahoe?!?
technically you could in2pro. However it would not be the best way of doing so. If for any reason the tahoe's 1st battery would say go dead, then the full load of the vehicle would have too come from the 2nd battery. By going thru the smaller gauge wiring (the aux circuit) I would tend to believe that some over heating of the wiringcould occur, such as sending the higher current to the starter.
The best way to add that 2nd battery would be to run at minimum a 4gauge wire from battery to battery, and to do any isolating if you wanted to.
