Thanks for you response. It confirmed everything I already know.
But I'd like to comment on trailer braking and bake controllers.
I pull live stock. One of the last things you want is the trailer brakes to look up.
Proper adjustment, per weight (load), on the brake controller, keeps the trailer brakes from locking up before the ABS kicks in, or tow vehicle brakes lock up.
But anyway, my concern is "beating my Suburban up".
I am in the market for a new travel trailer or toy hauler. My Suburban will only have t pull in in emergencies such as fire evacuations. Or leave the mountain in mid winter to get away from SNOW>
So it seems to me if your Tahoe can handle 8,200 lbs my Suburban should also be able to handle that much in a pinch.
From what I've read here on this forum, gas mileage is the biggest problem the Suburbans suffer while towing.
