Default trailer brake questions?

All,

I took the plunge and purchased a 2007 Suburban 4WD 2500 yesterday and am loving it. One of the main reasons I purchased was the need to tow a good size trailer. Unfortunately, the suburban does not include an eletric trailer brake but it does include the wiring for one (or so I am lead to believe). Being new to the Suburban I had a couple of questions that I am hoping folks can help me with.

Where is the wire/pigtail for the trailer brake located (the manual is not very helpful)?

Given the bulk of the center console (I have the two bucket front seats) I am at a loss as to where to locate the trailer brake control unit. I would appreciate suggestions on best trailer brake and best install options. old ones required leveling but I guess there newer ones that dont. These sound great and probably open up more installation options since you can mount in most any location. Any suggestions, do's and don'ts would be greatly appreciated.
