Default Transfer case questions

Hello I am new to the forum, it snowed here this weekend and I used the 4wd. It has the auto electronic 4wd push buttons. I put it in 4 hi with it in neutral, when I backed out of the driveway I turned toward the right it felt like the front wheels were bound up. I drove it a few miles when I got back home and I could not get the transfer case to go into neutral. Goes into 2hi 4lo and 4hi.

Thanks for your replies

Brian

Welcome to the forum.

What year? Are you using the method in the Owner's Manual?

It is a 2004 suburban about 95000 miles I changed the front and rear diff fluid with mobil 1 synthetic and transfer case with the blue recommended fluid. I am putting it in 4wd the tranny in neutral not moving and pushing the 4 hi button.

pretty sure you have to hold both the 2hi and 4lo buttons for 10 seconds while stopped, idling in neutral.

any part time 4wd system will bind when in 4by turning sharply.
