Default Transmission Coolers...again!

OK, I know everybody has pretty much beat this dead horse...but I still need some good info. 07' LTZ 3:73 rear end. My local dealer is not sure if GM makes one for my truck...and not sure if it would help. I have read about 50% of the posters would not do it due to problems...and about 50% would install one. Now, which one??? dealer installed or not?? warranty issues...leaks etc.?? (I will be towing a 5000# enclosed trailer with 2 Harleys)
HELP!!!!

GM makes a kit specifically for your Tahoe, it is GM part# 19171483 (Transmission Cooler).
The list price if the kit is $91 and most dealers will charge 1.5 hours labor for the install or about $120 but you can always ask for a deal.
This is the unit that I would install.

My Chev dealer's going to install the (19171483)? Transmission Cooler on my LT1 Tahoe w/ 5000 miles on it for $225. I asked to get one after a 50 mile long winter traffic jamat a steady20-40 mph up Colorado's I-70 pass towing alittle cargo trailer. The DIC was reading mid 200's (I try to forget the highest number ). My question: Can I have a manual inline shutoff (bypass) valve under the hood for it when it's -20F outside ona 5 minute commute to work?

So the new Tahoes don't already have them installed from the factory if it came with a tow hitch?

My dealer's service man said they didn't come with an LT1 tow package. He said they came on an LT2 tow package. Just goin' by what he said. If my memory's correct, ZX110F1 mentioned somewhere that it would've required 4.10 gears to come with a tranny cooler.

What tow package are you guys talking about? A tow hitch and wiring comes standard on the new Tahoe?
For 2007 the 4.10 gears needed to be ordered to get the KNP Tranny Cooler this year the option is free flowing and can pretty much be had in any combo although it is not part of any PEG (1LT, LTZ etc).

Sorry about reference to a “tow package” for the 2007 hitch, wiring, tow/haul button, etc. It’s one of the 4WD Tahoe features that made me a proud owner. Is the KNP Tranny Cooler option plumbed in parallel or series with the standard coolant route. In other words, is there any chance I can talk the dealer’s service department into adding either a shutoff or a bypass valve to the accessory kit under the kit’s warranty?

The tranny cooler is plumbed in series, there is little chance that a shut-off valve will be added under warranty and you don't want to, the transmission will not run too cold even on the -20F mornings.
The current Dexron VI fluid works just fine in the cold.
