Default Transmission Flush

I have a 2002 chevy suburban 2500 6.0L. I am about to change the gasket, filter and transmission pan, however I am unaware of how much transmission fluid I will need to refill it. Also I have small lights on the underneath side of my side mirror and I am in need of a replacement bulb. does anyone know what kind of bulb is required.

the new filter kit should have a drain and fill volume.

The oem trans pan gasket is re-usable. if its not leaking before you remove it, pressure wash it off and re-use it. the aftermarket filter kit gaskets are junk. just make sure its the oem gasket not a one time use aftermarket

if I had to guess at the volume, maybe 6liters.

Thanks for the info. The manual does not reference the bulb but I have resolved that issue. As for the transmission pan, it is leaking that is why I am replacing the gasket. The pan is also leaking from the drain plug. The manual only tells me 15.4 quarts but I know that is if the system is bone dry. I will start with 6-8 and check it. thanks for the help.

Why don't you make for less worry for yourself ? BEFORE you drain the fluid check the dipstick for the level and if on the full mark go ahead and drain the oil and make a good estimate how much came out. Do your inside work then add about the same amount of new fluid as you drained. Warm it, drive it and recheck the dipstick on level ground and adjust as needed. I am about to have another full change done on mine with BG Products Synthetic. This will make the 4th complete flush/change. Will be towing a small trailer in about a month. Let us know. Good luck. *BW*

Thanks for the info. Will let you know for anyone else looking for the same info. I bought 2 gallons so hopefully that will do it. Work will be done next week. Got to get time in the schedule.
