Transmission Issue?
Hey all,
I have a 2500, 2005 suburban. 4x4. The beginning of this winter I noticed that if I used the 4x4, it would make clunking sounds and "not work right". To avoid a costly bill I resigned to just use it as 2 wheel. In fact, if I try to put it into 4 wheel many times it blinks but will not engage. The other day driving down the road all of a sudden I felt something "trying to engage" while going down the road at 60 mpg. Later when I went to back into a parking spot it clunked a few times in reverse while moving.
So, with all of that being said, is it even safe to drive in 2 wheel and does anyone have any idea of what is going on ( am I looking at a actuator or a new tranny ). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
