Default Transmission Leak

What are these 2 metal discs? Leak just started a few days ago.
2011 Suburban 59,000 miles.

inspection covers. pry then out and you can see if a trail of fluid is coming from the torque convertor pump seal. if it is, the trans will have to be remved to replace this seal.

looks slightly dark in the pictures so you might want to verify if its engine oil or transmission fluid also.

I wiped it with a white paper towel and it was pink

I also thought the breather vent for the tranny is also in the bell housing? Is that right?

I was wondering the same about breather hose/vent as I cant find where else it would be

the vent hose for the trans is on the top of the case....has a rubber hose attached to it that runs back to the transfer case.
I have never seen one leak fluid. it would run around the outside of the case and down if it did.

Tech2, would you think that much fluid would pass out of the inspection covers? I wanted to say it looked to be coming down, but the second pic doesn't really show that. I'm just surprised that it kind flows up...knowing that the inspection covers are kinda at a low point there.

fluid leaks move down and back.


remove the inspection covers. see if its dry in the bellhousing, flexplate and torque convertor area.
