Default Transmission Problem

Yay my first problem........

Ok someone let me know what they think is wrong. I just got in my car and took off down the road when BAM, my truck pretty much shifted into neutral on its own, even though the dashboard said it was still in drive. I slowed down and slowly stepped on the gas and it was fine. 5 minutes later I was headed up a hill and BAM it did it again, only this time it would not kick back into drive. Basically I got back home by putting it into 1st gear then shifting up to2nd and then to 3rd. Any Thoughts?!?!?!It may not be a big deal but I'm pissed off now....

you might be on your way to broken internal trans parts.
mine was on the freeway when it lost it. had to limp off freeway, eventually using only 1st gear to go anywhere.
called onstar who then found a local tow truck to the
nearest chevy dealer. they found a broken sprag and some other small trans parts. my build date is 3/06 btw. what puzzles me is aren't these the old 4L60E 4 speed trannies?

Hmmm sounds like my tranny might have the same ailments yours had. My build date was 4/06, pretty close to yours, I wonder if there is some sort of trend there.

Black07hoe --> Was that something the Onstar diagnostic could pick up? If so, maybe txguykev could have Onstar run a check.

Yup, nothing at all. They said that if the problem keeps up to take it to a dealer....well yeah I'm going to do that.
