Transmission Problem?
i have a 2004 Tahoe,
i'm losing power when i accelerate. my oil gauge increases to 60 and as i continue to drive the engine stays idled high and the gauge remains at 60 until i start to decelerate, then the oil pressure returns to 40. i recently took my truck to the mechanic he repaired some things and he placed some sensor for the transmission. it did not fix this problem.
is this a transmission problem or a fuel filter problem?
please help, so i can contact that mechanic and make a more wise suggestion then the solution he gave me.

The oil gauge increase is normal and completely unrelated. Is the check engine light on? Have you had the computer scanned? Any codes? If the engine revs up alot but the speed does not increase you have a trans problem. If it just does not rev much or go you may have a fuel (most likely) or ignition problem. Either way some testing with specific tools will be needed in order to find out what is going on.
yes the check engine light is on. the mechanic would not tell me the codes that come up with the diagnostic scan but another mechanic told me that it is more likely a transmission problem and an ignition problem also, so i guess this new mechanic may know what he is talking about. thanks for the advice, i'll keep you posted.
