You also forgot to mention that you have the back of your seat leaning so far back you are using the second row head rests! So how would your head be close to the head liner? HAHA

I can tell you know, I am only 6 foot and if my seat is raised at all I start bumping the roof!

I agree biglg, I'm 6 foot also and I have to have the seat lowered all the way.

Ok, I will try to shine some light into this. (I have come to the conclusion GM let a few 6ft+ guys go from their design department - its a car for small people now!)

The guy I sold my 03 Avalanche to was nice enough to meet me yesterday. I took my measuring tape, and found this: Compared to the 03 Avalanche (which supposedly has identical interior to the old Tahoe), the 07 Tahoe's pedals are 1.5" closer to the driver seat. The steering wheel column is 0.5" lower!, and the seat is about the same height. (yes, all of them in the position allowing for most room, iE the pedals all the way up front, the seat all the way back etc)

This all leads to the crouched position for those of us who think we are crazy. I took a seat in my beloved 03 Avalanche again, and yes, its much more comfortable. So, no, we are not crazy.

If anyone could call GM and advise what to do, that would be huge. For my part, I am now driving my wifes VW Passat which is MUCH more comfortable to me.

I'm 6' 4" & 420lbs. I took my 07 Tahoe LT1 to a great local Cleveland, OH shop called Truckin Vantastics that specializes in vehicle modifications for handicapped individuals. They made a custom bracket for me that moved my seat back 4-5 inches and met federal safety standards. It's absolutely WONDERFUL to be able to stretch out in comfort now. Cost was $600.00

alexl,
Why don't you take a few moments and call GM yourself?
The GM-Mobility Program will normally pay for modifications that are required to make your vehicle fit but it may take just a little bit of effort on your part.

In response to ZX1100F1, I did call GM-Mobility and the only way they would consider covering anything seat related is if the entire seat is removed and replaced
with a handicapped power swing out lift seat.Under those circumstances the max. reimbursement is $1000.

I just traded in my 2010 2500 suburban for a 2016 1500 LT. BIG MISTAKE ! generally the car has some improvements especially with technology but the seats are so uncomfortable I ride with a pillow on my seat. I read on here that GM has small guys they design around. it must be true. I never thought I'd pay so much money for such an uncomfortable seat. the console is so big so you can have suspension files in it room for seats is short. how many people want suspension files in a console ? this is my 9th. or 10th suburban but will be my last unless the seats improve. if I took it for a test drive I wouldn't have bought it. now I'm stuck with it. I've been driving Corvettes since 1969 and still am. I have plenty of room in them.

I'm 6'5" 280 lbs I've found the Tahoe and suburban seats of the 07-14 to be very comfortable and the driving comfortable.
