Vibration in 99 Chevy Suburban after CV joint replacement
I own a 99 Suburban and recently had to replace a badly worn CV joint. The repair seemed successful but I very soon noticed an annoying vibration while accelerating starting at speeds of about 30 mph to about 45 mph. At higher speeds there is still a bit of vibration but not much. When I remove my foot from the accelerator at these speeds the vibration ceases.
I was wondering if I should have replaced BOTH CV joints even though the driver's side seemed fine? I drove with a bad CV for a while before replacing it. With all the noise of the bad CV, is it possible that the problem was already present but unnoticed because of the obvious CV joint problem? Is it a trans problem? There seems to be no other symptoms: no slippage, shifting is clean and at the right rpms. U-joints? Tires? Shocks? I don't really know where to begin looking, and am really loathed to just start "throwing parts" at the problem.
Thanks ahead of time for any help or ideas.
