So I have a 1997 K2500 GMC Suburban with the 7.4 (454) that is in great condition 103,000 original miles. I know it's all original yet every VIN look up I do says it has the 350. Anyone else ever found discrepancies when doing VIN look ups?

 

Maybe someone blew a motor. And replaced it with the 454

 

whats the last 8 of the vin and i'll tell you what it came with from factory.

the 8th character in your vin is j which is the engine code
j =7.4L gas L29 engine option


r= 5.7L

most of the vin look up info sites never get it all correct.
