Default Weird sputtering - 1990 Suburban

I'm not exactly sure what happend, I don't drive my suburban a lot, maybe once a week. But I was driving around one day for about 20 minutes, then went in a store for 20 minutes, then when I got back in and started in up, it was sputtering really badly. It was almost like it wasn't getting enough gas, and there are no leaks. So, I immediately went home. About half way through the trip, it started to feel normal again. Does anyone know what could have caused this?

Edit: This only happened once, and I've driven it a few times since. But I'm worried it will happen again when I am further from home.

Well it's not a short list of what it could be... I reckon the first thing I would check would be the fuel filter and see if it's due to be replaced. but until you can get it to act up again and get a better idea if it's fuel delivery or ignition your kinda stuck in the wonder boat...

Could have been a piece of carbon in the spark plug gap. Once you got going again, the compression blew it out. Unless it happens again, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Welcome to the forum.

If it happens again, might check the fuel pressure.
