87 from costco, not quite sure what they are using, but I get a nice combination of MPG and power.

16.5 current mpg
14.5 or so on E85 (Dave's estimate)
25 gallons or so each fill up
87 octane $2.25 now, here

25 x 16.5 = 412.5 miles
25 x 14.5 = 362.5 miles

362.5/412.5 = .878 as efficient

.878 efficiency x 2.25 (gas price) = 1.9777 (E85 break even price for me)

SO...don't pay more than 1.97 for E85!!

Have fun with numbers an do it with your price per gallon and MPG. That's all the fun I can have with E85..CAN"T GET IT HERE!!!!

Higher octane doesn't mean it's any better for the engine or that it will produce more horsepower. Higher octane is used for higher compression motors like the Corvette. If you put anything above what is recommended for the vehicle than you're just wasting money.
