Hi all, I can't seem to find the goodyear gater anywhere. Everyone in town is pushing the Gates brand. One place has the Daco brand that has the cross hatch cut like the goodyear gater. Is the gates brand a good brand? Or the Daco? Also I need to replace the air conditioner belt tensioner. I thought about a dealer part because sometimes the after market parts aren't any good. One after market part the wheel was plastic. Any good brands of tensioners?

I've never had any problems with any of my belts. I never pay attention to the brand. I think most have been Gates. Never have had a belt break (besides the A/C belt that broke because the tensioner seized), but I do carry a spare serpentine in all of my vehicles. 30+ years of driving; at least 15 different vehicles over the years.

Regards to the tensioner, just go online and find the best price for the OEM tensioner - Amazon, GM parts direct, etc.
