Hi. I drive an 07 Suburban. I'm currently having an issue when I'm in 2nd gear and I reach 2000 rpm, the rpms shoot to 3000 and fall back to around 1500 rpm. Is my transmission shot?

 

How many miles do you have on your vehicle? Are you the original owner? Have you done any basic maintenance to the automatic transmission yet?

 

​​​​​​Around 170k. My dad was the original owner, he bought it the day it arrived at the dealership. Back in 2011, the transmission had to be rebuilt after randomly breaking, but it's never given us any problems other than that. It's never pulled a heavy load either, for whatever that's worth. It's had 2 fluid changes (every 60k) 3 if you count the transmission rebuild.

 

Probably a bad shift solenoid.
