I need one of these. What is the technical name of it and where do i get it?

Off the High side on the A/C system.

I think they call it a quick connect charging port, I think you need to get it at the dealer.

Just for the record, Autozone can order them, and O'Reily has them in stock. I paid $4 for it. Now time to recharge the system again. Both dealerships that I talked to said that they don't sell just the valve, you can only buy the whole assembly through them. (for $125)

Glad you got it figured out, be sure to charge the system thru the low side.

If you didn't replace the dryer (probably should if the system was open to the atmosphere), then be sure he pulls a hard vacuum for about an hour to remove any moisture and then shut the vacuum pump off and make sure the system holds the vacuum so you know there's no leaks. If he's a certified A/C tech, then he knows all of this.
