After many miles of great family trips and commuting, our 2000 Burb was entered in the 300k mile club yesterday. We've only changed the fuel pump, Catalyst converter, water pump and the usual maintenance items. It still has the original engine and tranny. Our mechanic says it's best looking and best condition Burb he's worked on. My husband does most of the work himself and only takes it I'm when it's computer or difficult to figure out.
The exterior is in perfect condition, and only slight fading on the roof. The only dent came from an errant golf ball that flew over our house and hit the quarter panel (you can barely tell it's there). Apparently 40 yds off on his green shot!!
I was hoping to post a picture and of the odometer. But it doesn't look like I can.
We've been dedicated Chevy enthusiasts and plan to buy a new crew cab 4x4 to continue our trips to Tahoe!!

 

Sounds like you have taken good care of it. This just goes to show that if you take good care of a car or truck it will take good care of you.

 

Ours is a '99 with 229,000 plus and we bought it used in 2001. 155,000 of the miles are ours. Been from Ft.Worth, TX area to Springfield/Branson area many times, all the way from west of Ft. Worth to Atlanta, GA, then up to Raleigh, NC, then back through Nashville several years ago. Also from Ft. Worth area to the four corners area of NM, CO, AZ, UT several times and more times out to the eastern side of NM. Basic routine maintenance as well as 1 water pump, 3 fuel pumps (the first two were cheapos), flywheel, 1 set of brake pads, 1 alternator, 1 radiator, and 1 A/C compressor. Just finished installing new set of front rotors and set of brake pads. Only damage was a major hail storm which totaled the vehicle due to age and cost of repair being more than value of car. Also, neighbor crashed into driver's side rear door that had to be replaced. Still a nice ride once I can get the rotor problem fixed that I have written about in another thread. I probably will join you in the 300,000 mile club before unloading the car for a quad pick-up

 

I’ve got a ’97 K1500 LT I bought summer of 2012 with 74,250 miles on it, which now has 77,650 miles on it, and it’s pretty clean.

I only drive ~1,500 miles per year nowadays, and being 57 years old, it may never reach the mileage you guys got (at least for me), haha.

I pull a utility trailer sometimes when I help a buddy cut trees down, and I have an enclosed trailer for Sound/band gear, so it isn’t stressed too badly, but it handles anything I would use it for like a champ, including NE Ohio snow and bad weather.

Only repair I made so far was having a brake line replace ‘cause it was leaking.

 

You're going to regret the Crew Cab. That was my other choice besides a Suburban. the Burb rides WAYYYY better than any pickup!!

All my dad friends growing up left their burbs, only to come back to them shortly thereafter. Size, Ride, and overall functionality can't be beat!
