Whining sound with acceleration

Ok so this is going to sound crazy... I have an ‘87 R10 the noise I had got so loud while going through town (slower) that I refused to drive it. It got worse by accelerating, went away while coasting, and would return when I would brake. It took a few miles for the sound to start as well, when I would first take off. It would even make the noise for a second after I parked and turned the engine off. My dad replaced the transmission, water pump, power steering pump, alternator, fan clutch, and if there was anything else I don’t remember. My brother started helping and one day he looked and was like there’s your problem.... It was a dang pvc valve!! It isn’t supposed to have one so I guess the pressure is making the noise. I just thought I’d post this because I have read forum after forum and people have the similar sound, but no one had an answer.

I have a 05 chevy tahoe been doing the same thing for almost a year now we rebuilt the rear end then thought it had something to do with the tranny but it went out and has been completely rebuilt and is not the issue either I read somewhere it could be power steering system but I dont understand how it would be that when like u said I hear it around 30 mph and it dies when my foot is off the gas and when I accelerate again it starts winding faster
Did you ever get this figured out? I rebuild my rear end today. My bearings had some slight wear but nothing alarming. I went ahead and did carrier bearings and both pinion bearings. I still have the noise. The video fits it perfectly

I have a 2005 Tahoe 104K miles and it has a supercharger. I started hearing a low pitched whining sound when I accelerated. It would increase in volume. I brought it in to the mechanic who took the blower off the supercharger and sent it out to be rebuilt as the manufacturer said it was shot, he did some work on the rear end, as well as replaced the battery, belts, and a tensioner. (I don't have the receipt for the specifics as I am still paying him off.) Unrelated, I had him replace the shocks as they were the original. He did nothing with the front end.
$6K later and almost a month later, I pick up the Tahoe and the noise is still there.
1) The noise is from the front, and whether I am driving or in the passenger seat, the noise is the same.
2) I can not reproduce the noise revving in park, or revving in neutral. It only occurs while the Tahoe is in motion.
3) The noise has actually gotten worse. It is most noticeable when the car is in the 30-35 mph range. It can be heard over the radio and over the engine at that speed. Once at highway speed, it seems to blend in with the engine and tire sounds.
4) When decelerating, it makes a deep, winding down sound.
5) Yesterday, for the first time, It made a growly-screetch sound when I made a left turn onto a side street, and did the same when I backed out of a driveway shortly after that.
6) The noise started about a month after I had my front brakes repaired.
I'm a mom who needs her car and can't afford another high repair bill or to be borrowing cars for another month. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening? I'm at my wit's end. The dealership I purchased it from is no longer in business, or I would just go back to them.
Any help, advice, or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have recently purchased a 2003 Avalanche and hear a whining noise coming from it. I only hear it as I start to accelerate or maintain a consistent speed. At first I thought it was the fuel pump. And being the truck has 250k I figured that it was getting sloppy so I replaced it. It wasn't that. A buddy drove it and thought it was the passenger mirror motor. But even though the sounds are almost identical it obviously wasn't that either. I strongly believe that it's coming from under the truck. Maybe transmission or slightly behind it. Is it possible transmission fluid could be making noise inside the transmission possibly with air in it? I know these have questionable reliability issues on there transmissions. But I don't have time or money to put into a truck with a quarter of a million miles on it. Mechanics that have looked at it can't figured it out. I'm just trying to get ideas and possibly a way to check into it.

Sometimes you just need to get it on a lift and run it and have someone underneath to listen and / or use a mechanics stethoscope to pinpoint drivetrain sounds.
Otherwise your just whizzing into the wind hoping to not get wet.

If it is a while from the front while accelerating and happens while turning also it is your brake booster if it's still occurring replace your alternator pulley and belt and If there is still a whine it's the steering pump
start with the alternator belt and pulley as it's the cheapest repair the. The brake booster most likely active whine all the time while driving. Then steering pump
