But you guys all know that fuel injector cleaner is pretty much a waste of money on all Gen IV ls motors right?

Why is that?

I dont know about it being a waste, However i run premium octane NON Ethanol in the Suburban. I gas up at the same station, and its always run decent. I use additives to remove water, it was -2 deg. this morn. I have never been left Hi and dri with this stuff.

you run premium? never have run anything other than 87 in ours...

Also, the Gen IV motors have self cleaning injectors as do most vehicles do now. Every time you turn the key off the injectors heat up and burn off anything that might have built up on the nozzles.

I do run Premium because its Non ethanol. I have the 6.0 which should be fine on 87 octanehowever i learned my lesson by ruining a New Snow blower as well as a Honda Lawn mower Running Ethanol. In the deep winter my suburban sits outside while i'm at work in Temps below Zero. Ethanol has lousy side effects when sitting in the deep cold

I'm with you on using premium with no alcohol in it. It just doesn't make sense when it ruins small engines and marine engines.

Yea, 3 years in a row a brand new Simplicity Snow Blower left me Hi and dri before a major snow storm. The last time it was taken in for repairs the technician called me at home. He told me the inside of the carb.looked like it was coated with dried up Urine! I told him i ran it completely dry after each winter. What kind of gas did you use was his next question. I was then told per
Mfgs. suggestion DO NOT use ethanol in any small engine due to gumming, destroying plastic and rubber parts etc. Since then i use premium and have not had an issue. Tomorrow nite we are getting measurable snow. I put a small amount of fresh premium in the snow blower this morning and it started on 1 Pull. This is after sitting since last march.

Ethanol in gasoline is just so wrong for so many reasons.

all the gas stations around me have stickers on the pump that say "contains 10% ethanol", does that not apply to premium? ethanol is probably an addendum to the bailout on automakers. isn't it the gov't that makes it mandatory now for fuel to contain some part ethanol? ruin your vehicle so you have to go buy another???

A lot of states have dropped the requirement to even have the 10 percent ethanol stickers on the pumps so you don't even know what you're getting. There are several brands in the Kansas City area that sell alcohol free premium gas. A lot of people are buying that to use in marine craft and lawn equipment to prevent problems. I had a Kawasaki jetski that claimed to be able to tolerate 10% ethanol but however I had to use new spark plugs every season.

The largest convenience store chain here is Kwik Trip. Most of them have
one pump that is marked 91 octane NO ethanol for recreational use.
We also have no emission testing here
