Default Worn out? Still Good?

We have a 2005 Suburban. Bought it used in 2009 with 48,000 miles. It now has just over 150,000 miles on it. We have used it to pull a camper, a couple long trips to Florida (from Ohio), to Missouri. It is a primary vehicle for day to day travel. I drive it mostly , but my wife loves to drive it too. She does not baby it at all and loves to shift it manually from Low 1, 2, 3, etc.

It uses about a quart of oil every oil change which we have it changed at 7500 miles or so. Otherwise it still runs pretty smooth. Although my wife thinks it has lost some power.

My question is, my wife and I plan on taking the kids to Florida again this coming August. She is adamant we are taking the Suburban instead of her new Traverse. Will it be able to take such a long trip or is it getting too worn out?

I included a pic of my wife letting it wind out in Low 1 to 5500 RPMs and holding it there!

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like a good way to drive the Traverse on your next trip. By any chance is your wife the same one that did a video of just abusing the crap out of truck?

I have a 2000 with 165000 miles on it, but truthfully, I baby my vehicles. I trust it totally, and would never hesistate driving it anywhere. I also have a 2004 with 136000 and it's the same story. I have pulled a travel trailer with the 2000, but it's an awesome truck. Again, I do NOT abuse it though!

It's pretty clear it's what's called the "Rockefeller Complex", simple Psych 101.
ie:
My stuff is better than yours, because it's newer.
I want to use yours up, where it will fail.
I want to damage yours, where mine will remain.
Verbal condemnation, on any point of difference.
Any action justified, to get the "opponent" out of the way.
