Default Ziebart Undercoating on my 2008 Tahoe

I just picked up a 2008 Tahoe and found some rusting on the frame. I live in a salt state and was wondering if the Ziebart undercoating would do any good to prevent further rusting.

It may be surface rust but it's really bothering me. The Tahoe really looks nice and pristine from paint-wise but every time I get a glance on the wheel well, I see a portion of the frame with rust on it.

Thank you in advance ladies and gents!!!!

First frame rust doesn't hurt anything. Second if it bothers you from an aesthetic standpoint, then paint the rusty parts w/ POR. It's good stuff. Be sure to wear gloves because if you get it on your skin, it has to wear off, no way to remove it.

I suspect Ziebart will coat everything including wiring and hoses. Maybe not but something to check if you go that way.

A local shop "guesstimate" $900-1000 to remove loose rust and paint over with rust inhibitor.

Too much?

It would be for me unless it was a "show" truck and you plan to put mirrors on the ground to let people see it.

Maybe you could just paint the part that shows that bugs you.
