Drivers side pillar trim back up

Passenger side pillar trim back up. the screw that installs behind the little plug cover is a real pain. I dropped it 3 times because I did not have a magnetic tipped 7MM socket... Fishing anyone?

Handy Pinout guide

Found this gem at :https://allpinouts.org/pinouts/conne...or-dvd-system/

for this installation the #5 pin is not used. I wanted the 3rd row to be the same signal as the 2nd row.

SO I think it was a success. My Wife is Happy that it looks and acts like a clean factory OEM installation.

CHEERS, and good luck to you if you attempt this for your ride.

This is great!! I am thinking of making an offer on a suburban with only one screen. Wife test drove one with two screens and now I see I can add the screen. This makes for a happy wife, and I get a fun project out of it.

You either got it from the factory (only included with the Sunroof option as it is the only harness available with the 3rd Row Video wiring
So in your research, if I have a sunroof, should i have the 2nd DVD plug coiled up somewhere?

From the researching that I did, the odds are SLIM to NONE that the "special harness" is already there. Wish I had better news.
There seemed like 15 or more Harness combinations that all went into the Headliner. and the one instance that I found the harness for the 3rd Row Screen, was a fluke. (somedays I am lucky and find the needle in the haystack.)

Default Metal bracket was recycled

A couple of things that I might do differently on the Y-Cable that I made.
1. I would leave more length at the 2nd row end between the the two plug ends.
2. I would have made a better template to cut rear hole for the 3rd row screen.
3. I would have made my harness a little more flexible (I loomed/taped it up tight...)
4. I burned through 6 or so Pin connectors, trying to get the crimp just right. the connection needs to be small and stay within the confines of the square end of the pin. PRACTICE, practice, practice. After the pin is inserted into the Connector It doesn't come out, without a removal tool. be careful and exercise patience.

Also, I was sent double quantities of the connector and the metal roof bracket. If anyone wants to tackle their own I am willing to ship the roof bracket for the cost of shipping. PM me.

update... I recycled the bracket back in August 2017 due to space needs and no one wanted it, until recently. So apologies for not updating this point sooner.
