Default 4x4 light, service 4wd

read forum about this. my 05 suburban's had 8 encoder sensors replaced, 1 every 9 months and 12,000 miles!! sensor found behind plate attached to transfer case, supposed to be dry. replaced by chevrolet no charge. last episode, dealer showed me sensor was fluid covered, said needed to replace t-case, cost $2200! tried to get chevy to pay for, but no chance. they tried to say the 8th episode not related to previous 7. pretty sour on chevy right now, after having owned 17 including 10 4x4's and an 07 corvette. anyone else experience this?

egtaylordvm,

I'm sorry to hear of your frustration with your Suburban. Have you contacted Customer Service regarding the issue? If so, would you PM me the Service Request number (SR#), so I can look into this further?

Hello Louis at GM customer service,
From May '11 my case #71-943346401 I hope is still available. Every episode was part #88962315. Seems unimaginable that this sensor was dry the first 7 episodes, then suddenly wet the 8th.
I am so appreciative of your interest.

Default Re 4x4 issue

Hi there egtaylordvm, good post and I sincerely feel for you fella. I had went through the exact same issues with the General on my 03 Yukon, see pics I have supplied. End result for me was ZERO assistance on behalf of GM.

As I had a great long lasting relationship with all persons on a first name basis at my Dealer, they knew I had integrity; thus resulting in the dealer buying the 03 Yukon back from me and putting me into the 07 Hoe with little or no stress. They saved the day and not GM, sadly they didn't get re-sign by General Motors....good guys never finish 1st i guess....

However good Luck
