94 Suburban starts have to continually pump gas peddle to keep it running
Hello All!
Sometimes I have to use starter fluid to get it to start but once started I can keep it running (at fast idle) as long as I pump the peddle continuously.
It sat for 2 years. Started and ran perfect for several months. Left it parked for 6 months and this issue came up. Drained fuel (dark yellow) and changed fuel filter. New fuel with sea foam added.
If I hold the peddle steady at any position it will rev up as it should then idles down and dies IF I don’t start pumping the peddle.
Must maintain 2500 RPMs. If it drops below 2000 it will die even if I keep pumping peddle.
Please help!

Sounds like a fuel problem to me, but could also be these. Whats under the hood? 350? Could be fuel pump, injectors, or fuel pressure regulator (12/16 PSI). Could also be IAC valve. Check out the TPS too. Those can good bad real easy.

starting with the tbi's a poor ground will cause all sorts of issues. not saying im sure thats what your problem is but i would check all the connections as its something you can do and it cost nothing
