Default a/c clutch

My 1997 GMC suburban a/c stoped working. the relay that i found still works and there is power when i hit the switch going into the rear of the compressor. there is no power going into the clutch portion of the compressor and i can't seem to find the clutch relay. Can someone please tell me where to find the relay or switch so i can test it because i is very hot in a black suburban in hawaii.

If the refrigerant is low it would not run.

Unplug the switch on the receiver drier. Jumper the 2 wire together, Does the compressor come on?

yes the compressor came on, but now it is blowing hot air. what is the best way to recharge the system. do they make any refigerant with a dye in it to see where it is leaking from?

Yes they do, check out your local parts store. Most of them sell a kit with the dye and a small black light. If its a very slow leak you could try some stop leak.

You also will need a set of gauges to check pressures when it's charged.
