Question Diagnostic Software

My Progman software for my BMW came the other day so I now have a way to reset fault codes and reprogram my car to better suit the way I drive. But it made me wonder: Can I do the same thing for my 07 Suburban?

I searched the web and found software and the cable. But what can a person do without a subscription to the GM database or programming instructions? Can a person use that software to do something more than resetting the oil life or getting error codes?

Along a similar line, is there any publication or software short of a $300 set of shop manuals that can provide DIY information useful for troubleshooting common and uncommon vehicle issues?

subscribe to ondemand5 or alldata for shop information. It won't give you tuning information. you will have to buy an app from a company that sells this software.

Question- Do most or some auto parts stores have code readers for Suburbans?

Most have OBD II readers. Basic ones are relatively inexpensive now if you want to get your own.
