Default Improving towing

I have a 2004 1500 Suburban and have been towing a 30ft camper that is 5200lbs empty for years with no issues but I am looking at a new camper that is a bit heavier 6200lbs. Would I be helping my situation at all by going from the stock 3.73 to a 4.10 ratio or do I just need a bigger vehicle. The Suburban is in great shape with a lot of life left in her and would like to keep it if possible. Any suggestions are appreciated.

4.10 will use more gasoline, but yeah it would help pull.a trailer. Is it 2-wheel drive?

yes it is 2 wheel drive, just curious if anyone else has done this and how much difference it will make for gas mileage. If memory serves me changing to 4.10 will take it to a max towing of 8400lbs. Any other things I should take into account other than mileage with a swap?

Yes. you'd likely have to adjust your Chevy pickup's ECM to that change or your readings wont work out properly.
