knock sensor help
I need help. I have a 2000 sub and recently cleaned the engine. i do this
about once a year. i never had a problem doing this until now.
I got a check engine light. I had it scanned and it came up knock sensor.
I was told this is a bad design by chevy and that the sensors get wet under the intake manifold. will these dry out or do they have to be replaced. I think the whole intake has to be removed to do this. The engine seems to be running fine anyway. It is a 5300 vortec engine. i plan to go on vacation and drive about 1500 miles. What would happen if i did not replace the sensor?

No, when water gets in there it's in there. I was hoping the same thing but it never cleared itself. Here is a good link to held you out. It only took me about 3 hours. http://www.fullsizechevy.com/showthr...-knock-sensors!
