Default New Suburban Trans - Now won't start

2 weeks ago I took my 2007 suburban into a shop to get a new transmission. They found that the torque converter had blown. Now everything is back together and they can't get it started. He's what we know...

1) The suburban will start when you apply power directly to the starter. The vehicle starts and runs great.
2) The suburban drives and shifts just fine
3) Holding the key in the crank position and shifting the lever through the gears does nothing. (neutral safety switch)
4) We switched the fuse box relays around to see if a relay was bad but that didn't produce anything either.

What do you think?

I take it won't crank regardless of shifter position

The neutral safety switch is bad or is disconnected.

They ended up finding a shorted wire running to the starter. 😒🙄
