Please Help: I want to buy a Suburban but CANT
I'm absolutely in love with the Suburban. I like the history, oldest name plate, the size, the power, the style, everything. I have a family of 5 (3 boys) and there aren't many other vehicles that will meet my family's needs. Specifically I am looking at getting a late model, 2015 or newer Suburban.
I've driven it many times and like everything about it....except today I realized that the middle seats in BOTH the second and third rows do NOT have headrests! This is extremely dangerous for any passenger riding in those middle seats, as headrests prevent whiplash. WTF!? I can't believe it. Is there a solution? How is Chevy getting away with this when the Toyota Sequoia and Ford Expedition both have headrests for all seats... I just don't understand.

Yeah, my moms new Escalade doesn't have a middle headrest;
they are all like that,
but i dunno why (?)
(my mom just said 'leave your husband or least favorite kid at home!')
(meaning me.... oh brother)
they have been like that for like 10 years now, too.
Its so you can fold the seats down flat,
but they could of made a detachable headrest!!

The reason I still would like to buy a Suburban is because like most people who select a vehicle, I love the way the Suburban looks and drives. Also, center headrests are not my sole criteria, however, they are an important criteria, and really should be for GM too:

So what's the point of this thread? To just complain about a lack of center seat headrests? To lecture us for buying a vehicle without them? You're sounding a little sanctimonious.
I have a 7-passenger Suburban. I also have a family of 5. 99.9% of the time, there are six or fewer people, and everyone has a headrest. We're certainly not taking any long trips with 7 people in it, so I can live with the lack of the rear center headrest for the short trips with 7 people. That doesn't make me a bad parent or wretched human being.

I never said that and with all due respect, that's taking it too far..."bad parent" "wretched human being"? Common.
Maybe Chevrolet will create an aftermarket solution or offer headrests for all on their new models. Or maybe the solution is to always get captains chairs in the second row to eliminate that middle seat?

I'm still not understanding the point of this thread. The GM SUVs don't have them, there appears to be no real demand for them so there's no other solution. Buy it or don't buy it. You won't change anything posting here.
And to address your comment regarding the Expedition....I see no center headrests...
