Default 1998 Chevy tracker 1.6 engine

Hello, I am trying to find a replacement engine, preferably a reman long block for this 1998 chevy tracker 1.6. Not having much luck finding anything so far. The crank key nose is messed up and appears to have to omuch end play. the crank timing belt gear has ground itself into the oil pump housing.

Thanks in advance

Gene

Welcome from Florida. The oil pump assembly can be replaced and is not that expensive. The engine is hard to find. i did find a good used block on Ebay if you can get it swapped over with your old one. Is the car worth spending a lot of money on? You can also use different Tracket motors or Suzuki motors that are similar. Good Luck.

Hey there, I lived in Florida for 20 years. West central coast by Weeki Wachee. I will post photos later. The crank gear chewed into the oil pump pretty badly. This is a stick shift. The nose of the crank keyway is also twisted on an angle as well. I wanted to go with longblock replacement but that is proving hard to find. Definitely looking at replacing the crank or a used motor at this point. Petroworks is close by in California. I am in Lake Havasu city AZ now. Hwy83 on youtube recommended them. I am waiting to see what we can work out if anything. I am aware of the block issues under the number 2 main cap and coolant jacket issue by the exhaust manifold. Main thing for me is if this Block is good or not and identifying the different sizes of the main and rod bearings if I were to rebuild and replace the crank. The sizes look extremely close from stock to over or under sizes.
