Default 2000 tracker - reset button?

Just bought a 2000 tracker. On the first trip the drive belt broke and the engine overheated before I realized what was happening. Now there's no spark. ?? Is there perhaps a fuse or a reset button for overheating? I've looked everywhere, can't find anything.

There is no reset button and it is unlikely an engine overheat would blow a fuse. The signal that tells the PCM when to fire the spark plugs originates at the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. These are known to be sensitive to heat.

The 2 liter engine uses a 3-pin Hall effect CMP sensor.

If you have access to an oscilloscope, look for a pulse train on pin-2 of the CMP sensor while cranking the engine.

I'm not the familiar with the 2 liter CMP sensor but I believe you can replace the black electrical part without disturbing the timing.

I don't thik the part is very expensive but again I am not that familiar with the 2.0L.

Thank you, L84sky. I will check this out. All new to me and very interesting. I will be very fortunate if the problem is this simple to fix.
