Default 2002 tracker with a rebuilt engine

Hi all, I'm in the process of buying a tracker 2002 with a rebuilt engine.
question - is it worth buying ? What else to look for before buying it? Thanks!

'Rebuilt' can mean just about anything! Ask for the receipts and have a trusted mechanic who actually knows engines review them to see exactly what was done. The second question is - who did the 'rebuild'? Was it a buddy in his garage at home? Or a reputable garage with a good reputation. There is nothing wrong with buying something that has a rebuilt component in it but the engine and transmission are the 2 biggest units in a vehicle and, in a 2002, if they go bad then the vehicle is essentially worthless. I am speaking as a Certified Technician with over 50 years of experience servicing vehicles.
